Travelling around Turkey is very easy, as public transport services are extensive and cheap. Whilst the train service is limited, the private bus and airline operators are frequent and competitive and there are ferries to other Mediterranean
destinations.
In private transport, some roads can leave a lot to be desired. Turkey has one of the highest road accident rates in Europe, largely due to poor street lighting.
