You should aim to bring as little as possible with you when you retire to Italy, as shipping goods to Italy is expensive. There is no need to pack it unless it has sentimental value as you will be able to pick up all you need in Italy. Besides, if you are in rented accommodation initially, fully furnished apartments mean just that: everything will be provided down to the cutlery and sheets on the bed.
