If you chose to spend your retirement in Australia, it is mandatory that you have private health insurance and, as is the case anywhere, good sense to ensure that your possessions are adequately insured.
Health and medical insurance
If you hold an
Investor Retirement visa, you are not entitled to coverage under the national health scheme, Medicare, and must maintain an approved level of private health care coverage for your visa to remain valid. If you move to Australia before retirement and hold another type of visa, you may be entitled to Medicare services.
